Carleton University Students Visit Horse Country Campground
Horse Country Campground Works With Carleton University MBA Students
Horse Country Campground is very proud to be a selected tourism project by a group of students from Carleton University’s MBA program. As part of their Capstone Project on “Corporate and Business Strategy”, the students visited the ranch, meeting with owner Walter Willett, and getting some hands-on knowledge around constructing and operating a campground and horseback riding ranch in the Ottawa Valley.
With a range of high tech, bio-tech and innovative businesses to choose from, the MBA group lead by Professor Laura Lerfino Blachford chose to analyze and study Horse Country Campground’s unique tourism and hospitality business model as part of their course requirements.
“We are so pleased to participate in this exciting project and to work with these incredibly talented young people”, says Horse Country founder Walter Willett.
The student group which includes; Wenli Tan, Mengqi Qian, Yanran Li, Yue Shen, Xiaoxi Zheng, has been studying the Horse Country business model and providing insight into future development and global expansion opportunities for the Ottawa-based tourism operator.
“The appeal of horses, of the old west and the equestrian lifestyle has universal attraction and working with these MBA students has been an opportunity for us to expand our horizons and consider future locations and longer term development of the Horse Country brand” continues Willett.
The project will wrap up in a few weeks, however the students are planning a “follow up” visit ‘up the line’ in the Ottawa Valley in the spring, this time for product evaluation… a fun horseback riding adventure!!
